John S. Butterfield

My Great Grandfather John S. Butterfield's death certificate states he was buried at Funts cemetery. (Fouts)

He is listed in The Unmarked Graves by Fred Justice as

Butterfield, James S.       1841    6-30-1910     Fouts

In fact I have found his grave in Shruntz Cemetery in Momence Ill. His wife Mary White is in the next grave and it seems to be a family plot so I think Momence is the correct site.

My Great Grandfather was a Civil war veteran who lived in Grand Prairie Twp from about 1907 until his death in 1910. My grandfather also lived with them and my father was born there also in that same year.
