James Monroe SWIFT

James Monroe SWIFT, son of Alfred Swift and Drucilla Jane
MAXEY, daughter of Charles Hardy MAXEY were married following
James Monroe Swift's return from the Civil War. He served in Co.
A. 110th Regiment, Ill. Vol. having enlisted on Aug. 20, 1862 and served
until the end of the war. Prior to his servide in the 110th he was a member
of Co. A, 20th Ill. Infantry but was transferred after this unit was practically
annihilated at Lookout Mountain and Chickamauga. James and Druscilla had
the following children: Alfred Ettis "Etts" Swift, Dr. Hardy MAXEY Swift,
Ralph Herman Swift (died as an infant) Lulu Leedela Swift, William Waldo
"Will Swift, Alva Raymond "Buck" Swift, Carrie Estella "Stella" Swift,
Sarah Cecille "Sade" Swift, Roberta May Belle "Bertie" Swift, and Mary
Embly Grace Swift.
