G.W. Clark

G.W. CLARK, farmer, P.O. Belle Rive was born in Wilson County, Tenn., October 6, 1841, and is the son of J.A. and Margaret (BEARD) CLARK, both natives of that state. Subject is the oldest of six living children, and obtained his education in the subscription schools of that county.

He remained at home with his father until 1862, and then came to this county, and worked for a number of different farmers, among them James WATERS. In 1868, he purchased his present property and now owns 200 acres in Section 15, Town. ?, Range 4 east. He has about 160 acres in cultivation, and two acres in orchard.

Mr. CLARK was married January 19, 1873, to Jennie MCCARVER, a daughter of Mrs. Margaret MCCARVER and a native of Northern Arkansas. She is the mother of one child now dead.

He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church.

He has served as Township Supervisor and in politics he is an Independent.
